Inspiration + Goal
This busy couple needed to develop a landscaping design for their front and back yard. They both work from home and planned on having children, so they wanted a place to relax, spend more time outside, and plan more activities for the future. They planned to use their yard mostly on the weekends.
The Outcome
The backyard is big, so we had enough room to fit all the requested structures: patio, path, steps, retaining wall, pergola with fire pit, and playground area. Fruit trees and vegetable beds provide fresh and organic food for most of the year.

Plants: Low water use and drought-tolerant, native to the Mediterranean and the Australian landscape
The yard now attracts wildlife, provides cut flowers and fragrance, and is low maintenance with edible plants as well and a small lawn for children. Garden maintenance requires a gardener once per month.
